Populate the Default Value Field in a Form
Populate the Default Value Field in a Form
When using the Form Builder in the UtiliSync Admin app, once you have added a field to a form, you can customize the settings for that field in the panel on the right side of the screen. In this article, you will learn how to populate the Default Value field.
Instructions
- After you have created a form field, you can set it to prepopulate with a default value.
- You can customize the Default Value of a field in your form after clicking on + ADD Advanced Settings. NOTE: There is a built-in warning screen to make sure you want to configure Advanced Settings. The purpose of the warning is to stop anyone from accidentally changing the field settings, but if that is your purpose, go ahead and continue.
- If you choose to continue, you will get a menu with three options. Click on the arrow after Default.
- Now you can access the default settings through dropdown menus. In most form fields, the options are the same. You can pre-populate this field with data from each of the sources listed below. Clicking on each of these options will create a new dropdown to allow you to make your selected customization. In a few types of form fields, you are given an additional option such as pre-populating the field with the current date or time.
- When you have finished choosing the Default settings, click on the Save Settings button.
- The remaining settings are available for many types of form fields and will be described in separate articles.
- Remember to click on the Update Item button when you have finished customizing the settings.
Success! You can now populate the Default Value field in a form.
